Website Basics

Your website is one of the center pieces of your marketing strategy – So let’s touch on some website basics that will strengthen your website and make sure you are offering a welcoming experience for your audience as a Pregnancy Help Organization.

Logo/Colors:

Make sure your logo and color scheme make sense for your target audience. Keep things simple and use colors that keep your website fresh, welcoming, and that do not date your site.

Header:

Website visitors do a quick scan of your website to see if they can find what they are looking for in a matter of seconds. Make sure your header offers direction to your website to make it easy for users to know who you are, what you do, what you offer, and any other important points that will answer questions for the audience you are trying to connect with.

Pictures:

Use images on your website that are relatable to your audience. Keep in mind your location and client demographics when selecting images. Using images of your center are great so that potential clients know what they can expect. Create a vision of hope and encouragement throughout your images!

Content:

Content is important not only to offer the facts and answer questions for those you are trying to reach – But to also help your organic reach so that you are easily found when someone is looking online for help and information. Don’t overwhelm users with extensive data on your website, however, offer enough information that answers all the important questions a website visitor may have and to inform them on the topics they may be looking for. Be sure to include content that includes keywords that relate to your target audience. Anther very important piece is to update your content regularly with new content (blog, newsletter, etc.) to keep your site up to date, let users know you are active, and to help with your SEO.

Connections:

Be sure to offer many ways for a website visitor to connect with you. Users have different comfort levels and may prefer one way over the other. If you can, be sure to include your phone number, email, text, chat, webforms, scheduler, etc. to give several ways one can reach out. And put these in multiple places on your website so that no one has a difficult time reaching you.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

Make sure that your website is mobile friendly and that the text on your website is readable. Be sure to also cover the basics of SEO on your site such as using quality content, indexing each page on your site, filling out your websites metadata, and connecting pages on your website to and from one another (internal linking). Each of these areas will assist with strengthening your website SEO.
