Strength for the Frontlines: Facing Obstacles in Pregnancy Help

Serving in the pregnancy help movement is a high calling. It’s where hope is offered to those facing heartbreak, where truth is presented in the face of fear, and where love is poured out tangibly and sacrificially. If we are honest though, this work is not easy.

Whether you’re a consultant, director, manager, advocate, nurse, volunteer, or prayer warrior, the obstacles can sometimes feel overwhelming. From limited resources, and emotional burnout to spiritual warfare and opposition from the culture or the community, there are moments when quitting feels tempting. But fellow servant, God is in this with us.

The Call Is Clear—Even When the Road Is Not

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed." – Proverbs 31:8 (NLT)

God’s Word never promises an easy path, but it promises purpose. Advocating for the unborn and supporting women and families is not just a job, it’s a divine calling. When we tell ourselves who we are doing this for, and who’s doing it through us, it offers perspective.

God has called us to be a voice, and He strengthens and equips those He sends.

When the Opposition Feels Fierce

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." – Exodus 14:14 (NIV)

Sometimes it may feel like pushbacks are all we are experiencing, from criticism to misunderstanding and spiritual warfare. Other times, it’s a more silent opposition that comes from within and produces feelings of weariness, doubt, or isolation. In both, God reminds us that He is our defender. He sees our hearts.

We don't have to have all the answers or carry every burden. We just need to stand firm in truth and let Him be our strength.

When Compassion Starts to Feel Costly

"Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." – Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

It’s impossible to fulfill our calling without pouring ourselves out for others. We carry stories, grief, and sometimes heartbreak that others never see. And yet, in the quiet when we say yes, God is at work. Every pregnancy test, every diaper, every ultrasound, every prayer, every hug—none of it is wasted.

Faithful service to the Lord echoes in heaven. Keep sowing those seeds. Keep showing up. The harvest will come.

God Equips Those Who Say Yes

"Not that we are competent in ourselves... but our competence comes from God." – 2 Corinthians 3:5 (NIV)

We may feel inadequate or underqualified, but God delights in using the humble. We see this time and time again throughout Scripture. He equips us with courage when we feel afraid, with wisdom when we feel unsure, and with love when we feel we have none left to give.

When we’re exhausted, we need only to give it to Him. When we’re discouraged, open His Word. When we’re unsure, ask for His leading. He is our supply.

Working in a pregnancy help is a divine calling that is often not seen by the world but deeply cherished by the One who sees all. When obstacles come, He is our anchor. God is not asking us to be perfect, only to be faithful. And you are.

Stay rooted. Stay prayerful. Stay courageous.

The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (NIV)
